Parallel: The History and Archives of Artist-Run Centres in Canada is a SSHRC-funded research project dedicated to the history of artist-run centres in Canada. It aims to document and help support the archiving of these histories across Canada.

Co-led by Devon Smither (University of Lethbridge) and Amber Berson (Concordia University), Parallel brings together scholars, artists, and cultural workers to examine the development, impact, and regional diversity of ARCs.. The project supports archival research, oral histories, and collaborations with artist-run centres to ensure that these histories are not only preserved but made accessible for future generations.
